Yes. We use a professional multi-frequency body composition scanner from TANITA to measure metrics such as body fat percentage, muscle mass, hydration, and more. Unlike many body composition scales that are calibrated to DEXA scans, TANITA analyzers are calibrated against the more advanced 4-Compartment (4C) model — a research-grade method considered one of the most accurate standards for body composition analysis. This technology demonstrates up to 99% agreement with the 4C benchmark, helping us provide more precise and personalized nutrition and wellness recommendations.
Yes! We accept insurance plans for nutrition services. Because every policy is different, coverage will depend on your specific carrier and benefits. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to confirm eligibility and coverage details before scheduling.
Be sure to check out the next FAQ below for our easy How to Check Your Nutrition Coverage to help you through the process.
Please call the Customer Service telephone number on the back of your insurance card prior to your first visit. When calling your insurance company, ask the following questions to help determine your coverage:
Is RAW Functional Nutrition (NPI number 1285212084) currently an in-network provider for my plan?
If not, what are my out of network benefits?
Does my plan cover outpatient nutrition therapy CPT codes 97802 (medical nutrition therapy – assessment), 97803 (medical nutrition therapy – follow up), or 97804 (medical nutrition therapy – group)? If you have diabetes, you may also want to ask about diabetes management codes, G0108 (individual) and G0109 (group).
Do I have any nutrition counseling visits covered under the preventative care portion of my plan, (ICD-10 code z71.3)?
Do I have coverage for services provided via telehealth?
Do I need a physician referral?
Do I have a deductible for “Nutritional Counseling Services?”
If yes, how much is it and how much has been met so far?
Is there a copayment for each visit or do I have co-insurance? If I have co-insurance, what is the percentage of coverage?
How many sessions are covered per year?
If I have a mental health diagnosis, such as an eating disorder, does this visit limit apply?
What month does the policy year renew?
Are there any restrictions and/or limitations to my coverage?
Write down and keep the reference number for your call.
